FLEXIBLE LOGISTICS SOLUTION
SSI SCHAEFER is starting a completely new distribution center for bol.com in Waalwijk. The e-commerce company wants to continue to provide all customers with their orders on time, not only today, but also in the future. And the growing and varied outflow of parcels to customers and the varied inflow due to returns and new stock from suppliers require a flexible logistics solution. SSI SCHAEFER is supplying the complete logistics equipment including the software for this full-film center.
LARGEST DISTRIBUTION CENTER IN EUROPE
At 100,000 m2 in size, the new bol.com building will soon be the largest distribution center in Europe. But because the assortment varies so much in size and weight, the complexity of the logistics setup is hugely innovative. It requires a logistics system that can process a large number of packages flawlessly 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
AUTOMATION (WMS)
The choice of the layout and the associated automation (WMS) is of great importance. Above all, it demands a lot from the employees at SSI SCHAEFER. Our aim is that from autumn 2021, highly advanced SSI SCHAEFER shuttles will be flashing past the shelves at bol.com in Waalwijk in order to collect the customer's orders.
